LT Chapter 5

 Chapter 5: Corpse Transformation

When the old shopkeeper said this, Wang Yan and the others were taken aback.

It turned out that the old shopkeeper had a nephew named Liu Da, who was now twenty-seven or eight this year. He was a good businessman. This inn was opened by this uncle and nephew.

His nephew had a daughter-in-law, and he gave birth to two sons and daughters during the few years when he entered the door.

Since then, this belly had never been up. Liu Dawei had visited countless doctors, but unfortunately, he had never seen any results.

As a result, the two often quarreled, and the relationship was extremely discordant.

As the saying goes, there were three kinds of unfilial piety, and no queen was the greatest. Mr. Liu couldn't let the incense of the old Liu family go to his own generation. While he was still young, he had the idea of divorcing his wife and marrying another in a few days.

But somehow, his thought reached his wife's ears, and the two had a big fight all morning.

He thought that the anger disappeared and it would pass naturally, but who would have thought that at dusk, this nephew and daughter-in-law would hang a rope on the beam of her house and hang herself.

The nephew went out to buy a coffin, but he hadn't returned yet, and the corpse of his nephew and daughter-in-law was currently parked in that room.

On the one hand, in order to avoid causing panic. On the other hand, he didn't want to let people know that corpses were in the inn, which would affect the business, so he didn't say anything.

Unexpectedly, the sudden arrival of Wang Yan disrupted his silence. They were aggressively trying to stay in the shop and even suspected that they were a black shop. It was related to the reputation of the inn, so the old shopkeeper had to tell the truth.

It’s just that the family ugliness could not be spread out. Naturally, the various behind the scenes would not be revealed. It was simply that the nephew and daughter-in-law were dead, and the corpses were currently in the house. If they were not taboo, it was not impossible to arrange to deal with it overnight.

Sleeping in the same room with the dead, they felt panic thinking about it.

But the matter was urgent and there was no other way, so the three discussed it, and the final decision could only be so.

"This person is dead like a lamp, and the shopkeeper also asks me to mourn. We will wait for our place of rest, and we will leave at dawn. Shopkeeper, please go and arrange it!"

Li Sheng, a martial artist, was full of courage. He was not too afraid to stay overnight. He strongly recommended that now that the weather was getting colder, he couldn't really stay in the mountains and forests!

Zhang Daoran had been running for a day, and his limbs were already weak. He only felt that he was not so tired from chopping wood in Taoist temple, so he didn't care too much and followed Li Sheng's arrangements.

Wang Yan came from modern times, and although he was not very sensitive to dead people, he felt more or less uncomfortable when he thought that this world was no better than the original Earth.

His brothers had already made a decision, and he couldn't help it.

After a busy day, the iron-struck man couldn't stand it. He didn't know if it was because of the long journey, but his mind was a little groggy and not so clear. Now, he just wanted to soak his feet and sleep.

When it came to this, the old shopkeeper simply left them alone. It's not easy to go out, so if he could help, he would help.

He immediately ordered Xiao Er to clean the room and tidy it up. Wang Yan and the others finished their dinner in the lobby, and the old shopkeeper led the three into the inner courtyard, bypassing several guest rooms, and finally came outside a wooden house.

There were two rooms in this house, which were divided by a gate, and another outside. There was a big shop on the right. It seemed that sleeping three or four people was not a problem.

On the opposite side of the shop, there was a pair of simple tables and chairs. There were oil lamps on the table, a coffee table, and an incense burner.

There was green smoke rising from the incense burner, and a faint fragrance diffuser, as if it was intentionally trying to cover up the old musty smell and other peculiar smells in this room.

It seemed that this room had been unoccupied for a long time, but fortunately it was still clean and tidy. They thought it was because of their arrival that they temporarily cleaned it up.

The end of the shop was separated by a curtain,

They could vaguely see a wooden bed placed inside, a white cloth covering the whole bed tightly, and the rest couldn't be seen clearly.

A group of caravans came today, with a lot of people, so not only the guest room was overcrowded, but he and his nephew's room were also let out.

The corpse of the nephew and daughter-in-law was originally placed in the nephew's room. It was temporarily moved to this long-unoccupied bunk house only because of the presence of distinguished guests in order to avoid unnecessary troubles.

"Guest officials, do rest, and this old shopkeeper will not bother you." After all the matters were arranged, the old shopkeeper said, then turned and left.

"Supreme Priest Duer Tianzun, don't blame us. Don't blame us!" After seeing him go, the three of them all shot the inspectors inside.

They were wearing secular clothes for the convenience of the trip, and their identities were unknown.

Although they had been up the mountain for so long and were accepted by the master as an apprentice, after all, they had not officially been passed down, so they were not true Taoist priests.

A cold wind blew from outside, and Wang Yan couldn't help but shudder. He looked at the room inside the curtain, and a chill rose in his heart for no reason.

He couldn’t help but think of that word in his mind.

"Don't think too much, you are tired after a busy day! Let's rest, and we will go up the mountain tomorrow morning!" Li Sheng patted Wang Yan on the shoulder, then finished soaking his feet with Zhang Daoran, and fell asleep. After a while, there was a snoring sound.

Like them, Chang Er curled up and rested in the corner of the shop. As for Wang Yan, after finishing washing, he cross-legged on the shop and chanted the resurrection curse in silence before falling to sleep.

Obviously, he was tired physically and mentally, but for some reason, Wang Yan always felt like there was a thorn on his back.

Li Sheng and Zhang Daoran were sleeping in the inner part of the bunk, while he was lying on the periphery near the door. At this moment, the two seniors were already asleep. Wang Yan turned his head unintentionally and happened to look towards the room inside.

He didn't know where the strange wind came from, and the hanging curtain made of thin bamboo was blown to sway, completely revealing the scene inside.

Suddenly, Wang Yan's eyes widened. He saw the corpse lying on the couch, uncovering the white cloth covering him, and slowly sat up.

"The corpse... the corpse?"

Wang Yan's heartbeat intensified in an instant, and he only felt that his whole body was blown up. He wanted to shout, but he couldn't shout at all.

Suddenly opening his eyes, Wang Yan took two breaths fiercely, sweat dripping from his forehead.

Looking at the back room for the first time, as always, there was no change. The curtain did not move, and there was no wind in the room.

Except for Zhang Daoran's snoring, the surrounding silence was abnormal. There was no sound.

It turned out that before he knew it, he had already fallen asleep. Everything that he  saw was nothing more than a dream.

Waving his sleeves to wipe away the cold sweat, Wang Yan breathed a sigh of relief. Looking at the brothers next to him, the two of them were really big-hearted, and they slept so deeply.

Don't think about it, so as not to scare yourself.

He simply turned sideways towards the door, closed his eyes, and soon fell asleep again.

Crack...

In the room where the corpses were hidden, the window that was originally closed was suddenly pushed open by something.

The night breeze mixed in with cold air, and a black cat, with bright green eyes, climbed up the window.

"Meow…" With a slight scream, the black cat jumped onto the counter from the window sill and sniffed, as if looking for something. After a while, it jumped directly from the counter to the corpse.

"Meow…" There was another scream, so late at night, extremely permeating.

The black cat waved its paws and kept pulling the white cloth, as if what it was looking for was under the white cloth.

Puff...

Suddenly, ten stiff and whitish fingers pierced through the body of the black cat with lightning speed, and the black cat was killed without even screaming.

The blood flowed, then the corpse opened its mouth and swallowed it all.

He drank the blood of the black cat and threw the corpse aside. The female corpse tore off the white cloth and slowly sat up on the bed.

LT Chapter 4

 Chapter 4: Stay

There were many villages at the foot of Laoshan Mountain, and most of the villagers were simple and honest. The so-called relying on mountains to eat and get water was not true. This place was rich in water and soil and could support this place.

The whole Laoshan Mountain had branches at the east and west ends, stretching for hundreds of miles to the east to the East China Sea, and to the west was the capital of Qingjiang Mansion, where the famous Laoshan Academy resided.

As for the shortest and easiest way to descend the mountain, naturally it was to go south and go  along the golden summit of the main peak. It took no more than two hours to reach Wangshi Valley. Just go through this valley, basically one could see the village.

Eighteen miles south along the road was Ning'an County under the jurisdiction of Qingjiang Mansion and the destination of Wang Yan and the others.

It was easier to go down the mountain. Moreover, Wang Yan and the others were strong and fit. They set off in the morning and arrived at Shixi Village at the foot of the mountain by midnight.

In the village, there were so many means of transportation such as ox carts, carriages, and so on. They just happened to be in time. Someone happened to go into the city to deliver goods, so the three of them took a ride, which greatly saved time.

About half an hour later, they arrived at Ning'an County. Li Sheng presented the already prepared guide to the gate guard, and the three of them entered smoothly.

Ning'an County was not very large, but people were surging. Merchants, traffickers and pawns, ordinary people and other people of the three religions and nine generations gathered there, which could be described as a mixture of fish and dragons.

On the street, there was a faint fragrance of sweet-scented osmanthus, and there were inn shops on both sides. The guys were vying to attract customers, which was very lively.

Near noon, after driving so far, the three of them were already hungry and thirsty, so they planned to find a place to fill their stomachs first. Then, they went to buy the items they needed.

After looking for a fairly clean wine shop, the three senior brothers leaned against the door and gathered at a table. Chang Er in the bamboo basket also popped out.

What was unexpected was that it just landed, and a beggar appeared into the corner outside the door. The unkempt, ragged man, with a fierce look, picked up the fat rabbit and ran.

Chang Er was obviously taken aback, screamed and struggled hard, but the man held on to it, and its resistance was useless.

"Thief, don't run!" Wang Yan reacted instantly. He stood up and ran after him.

Seeing this, he picked up the teacup on the table and threw it at the beggar. with a crisp "bang", the teacup exploded on the beggar's head.

The beggar was in pain. His grip loosened, and Chang Er got out. It leaped back to Wang Yan's side.

The poor rabbit had never suffered this grievance when following its old master, but now, it had finally tasted the dangers of the world.

The beggar seemed to be afraid of them coming after him, so he covered his head with his hands and ran away without looking back.

Although there had been some episodes, Chang Er left everything behind when the food came. To eat and drink, and to nourish enough energy, Wang Yan originally wanted to go to purchase the necessary items, so he could rush back to the mountain as soon as possible and complete the mission of this trip.

Unexpectedly, Li Sheng and Zhang Daoran both smiled and said they were not in a hurry.

He just said that it was the first time he went down the mountain to buy. He didn’t know the fun of it, and the time limit was still long. They only needed to go back to the temple tomorrow, and the rest of the time was naturally to have a good time in the city.

Li Sheng said that he was going to do some personal affairs and sent a letter to his family along the way, while Zhang Daoran would go buy some other items. If Wang Yan didn’t want to follow them, he could also go around the city by himself. They just had to meet up at the wine shop.

The two brothers said so, and the minority obeyed the majority. He also happened to take this opportunity to get a good experience of the world's cities.

Unconsciously, more than an hour passed. At about the afternoon, they finished purchasing the items they needed. The three’s back baskets were filled with incense, paper, wax, etc., and other than that, the hands of the few people were not idle.

Zhang Daoran bought a lot of things, snacks, shoes, socks, and clothing. He said that most of them were brought by Guanli brothers who asked him to help them. If he couldn't hold them, he distributed them to Wang Yan and Li Sheng.

Fortunately, the things in the back basket were not very heavy. The firewood they usually pick was much heavier than this, and their physical strength had long been honed.

As usual, they found an ox cart from the city and returned to Shixi Village first.

Seeing that it was still early and there was still some way to go, the three did not stay overnight in the village, but walked along the road with their baskets on their backs.

There were many guest shops in Wang Valley, because there was a road leading to the next county town, and there were frequent businessmen passing by, and they would stay here after the night was late, and they could also earn some room and food.

Before Li Sheng went down the mountain to buy, he once lived there. Therefore, the three discussed that they could stay there tonight and save a lot of time in the mountains tomorrow morning.

The frost had passed, and the sky was easy to get dark. After Wang Yan and the others stepped into the Valley of Ten Thousand Stones, they almost couldn't see their way halfway.

As soon as there were lush trees on both sides of the valley, huge rocks stood horizontally, and the sky was hidden from the sky. As long as the sky was dark, the valley would be invisible.

Fortunately, the roads were spacious and flat, so they could do their best.

When they arrived at the inn, the sky was completely dark, and the three of them were out of breath due to rushing to check in.

Not far ahead on the right side of the road, a small house was built against the mountain, and the faint candlelight of lanterns lit it. There was a large flag in front of the door, swarying in the wind and the words "Wangshi Inn" were written.

"Shopkeeper, that wild cat ran in again!"

"Hey! Didn't I tell you, throw it out! Throw it as far as you can. If it disturbs the guests, I can make you go around without eating!"

When Wang Yan and the others walked to the door, they saw a man rushing out carrying a black cat, cursing and extremely dissatisfied.

"Shopkeeper, are there any vacancies?" Stepping into the house, Li Shenglang asked.

"Oh! A few guest officials. It's a coincidence that our store is already full. If it's fine, if you stay outside the store… hehehe, I'm really sorry."

Seeing these three entering the house, the old shopkeeper hurriedly stepped forward to greet them and smiled bitterly apologetically.

"How is this good? Shopkeeper, you see it's too late, and the surrounding is barren mountains and forest, so I can't let three of my brothers sleep in the mountains and forests! Besides, if we encounter a wolf, insect, tiger, or leopard, wouldn't we be killed!" Upon hearing that there were no vacancies, Wang Yan and the others were also helpless. They had already known that they shouldn’t have left in Shixi Village.

But that's the end of the matter. No matter what, they had to survive the night.

“That's right! Shopkeeper, we ran around for a day, and they were all physically and mentally exhausted. Please think of a way to let us stay for one night. We’re willing to pay more money.” Wang Yan also pleaded.

"This… Oh! It’s really embarrassing. It's just that the shop is too small, and there are really no extra rooms!" The old shopkeeper was also weak and embarrassed.

"Shopkeeper, don't we still have a room vacant? It’s not a big deal to let them stay!" The talented guy came in from outside and reminded him.

"Shut up! Who made a beast like you talkative?" The old shopkeeper suddenly became angry, staring at the man and cursing.

Since this morning, this guy had become talkative and active, as if he was the treasurer here, and he didn’t know who had given him the courage.

The guy slumped, didn't dare to say anything, lowered his head, and quickly slipped into his room.

"Shopkeeper, there are rooms, but why don't you let us live?" The three of them heard what the guy said, and Li Sheng was a little bit angry. His tone was not as polite as before.

"Oh! The guest officer, don't listen to that kid's nonsense. How dare I deceive the guest officer, it's really because... there is hardship!" he old shopkeeper was anxious when he heard it, and quickly explained.

"I really want to hear what the old store has troubles with! There is no reason in this world that the shopkeeper drives the customers out. Doesn't the old store make any money? Or is it that the store has done something shameful? So you don’t want to be known?" Zhang Daoran was quick to speak, and after having been on the road for so long, physical fatigue caused him to be a little irritable, and he didn't care about offending others, so he said what he thought.

"Hey! How can this guest officer taint his innocence out of thin air! The old man has good intentions, since some of you don't appreciate it, that's all! Then I won't tell you the truth." After he was so excited, the old shopkeeper felt extremely unhappy.

"There was a dead body in that empty room! I am also afraid that some of them will be infected with bad luck, so I’m trying to obstruct you. It is really a last resort!"

LT Chapter 3

 Chapter 3: Incense Procurement

A new grave was added to the wilderness and forests.

After the descendant of the Danding sect gave his last wish, Wang Yan followed his wishes and found an empty place to cut out the isolation belt, got some dry wood, and cremated his body.

They dedicated their entire lives to the pill furnace, and even if they died, their bodies would burn with the flames, so that their souls would be detached and ascended.

Wrapping his ashes in cloth, he found a place with a decent view, dug a hole and buried it, and  gave him the last ride.

At the end of the day, too many unexpected things happened, and he also gained a lot, but he was still a little at a loss until now.

After returning to the Sanqing Temple, Wang Yan didn't conceal it and told his Master all the things he encountered. The old Taoist did not say much about this, but only said that all this was his fate.

The upper avenue, inclusive of all rivers, was very accommodating.

What he would do depended on his own choice. If he was willing to stay, he would continue to chop wood and get water. If he felt it was hard, he could leave.

For his training, the old way would not change because of certain things.

Wang Yan was naturally unwilling to give up this thigh easily. After all, looking for a successor was not urgent. His own great cultivation had not yet been accomplished, so how could he be willing to help others because of small losses.

He looked at the things in the box: a bronze token, a sheepskin ancient scroll, and finally the half of the black vine that was given to him as a gift. It was no more than three inches long, the thickness of a thumb, black as charcoal, and full of toughness.

Li Changye said that this was a Lingbao that could cure diseases and detoxify poison. In order to verify, he specifically asked the Master for advice, and the results were roughly the same.

It's just that the master gave him another suggestion to plant with the soil under the roots of old pine trees and irrigate with the dew on the willow leaves in the early morning.

Regarding the other two things, the old Taoist priest gave him a piece of advice. The karma contaminated by this inheritance was very heavy. If he could bear it, he could accept the inheritance. Otherwise, it was best not to lightly open it.

After hearing the words, Wang Yan was very grateful for the decision he made at that time. The fat rabbit named Chang Er, because of the death of the owner, did not eat or drink for several days, always in a state of sadness.

Life in the future would be as boring and monotonous as ever.

Another month passed in a blink of an eye, and now, the master also allowed him to chant the sutras with other seniors in the morning class. Although he hadn't taught the spell halfway, he was not discouraged.

In films and television dramas in his previous life, if the protagonist wanted to become a decent teacher and learn martial arts, he had to carry water and chop wood for at least three years before he could learn the true skills. He had only been in here for more than two months.

In his previous life, Wang Yan was just an ordinary person. He had no great wisdom or background. He had always been diligent and hardworking.

To say that his greatest advantage was that he had long-lasting patience. As long as it was something he believed, no matter how hard it was, he would stick to it.

Over the past two months of running back and forth up and down the mountain every day, Wang Yan's physical fitness greatly improved.

Chang Er gained weight for several laps due to the rewards from the seniors from time to time. Obviously, it had come out of grief.

Wang Yan, according to Master's instructions, didn't seem to change much of the black vine that he planted. What it used to be was what it was now. If it was an ordinary plant, it would have sprouted long ago.

Approaching October, when the season changed, an autumn rain continued for three days, thoroughly washing the entire Laoshan Mountain.

In the early morning of this day, the rain had stopped. He watched the side yard.

After finishing washing, Wang Yan put on a plain suit.

***

Completely organized. There were not enough joss sticks, so the Master ordered them to go down the mountain today to buy some, so as not to cut off the incense of the patriarchs.

In recent years, if people have anything they wanted, they basically went to the temple to burn incense and worship the Buddha.

Although the people's incense was gradually declining, they couldn't let go of their hands. Sooner or later, the three-pillar fragrance was still needed. So every two or three months, they would go down the mountain to buy some.

Pushing the door, he wanted to say something to Chang Er, but the fat rabbit was nowhere to be found, so Wang Yan had to give it up.

Today, the number of people going down the mountain to purchase, plus Wang Yan, was three.

Perhaps this old Taoist priest was too low-key and did not easily show in the mountains. Therefore, although the Taoist temple was large, there were not many disciples.

Excluding those who already entered the world, there were only more than 30 people who remained. They could even match third-rate small gangs on the rivers and lakes.

However, as the old saying went, the disciples are few but fine.

Among them, more than ten seniors have already practiced with Master, and the rest had to collect firewood, water, and dust, as well as contract some chores in Taoist temples. Therefore, the hard work of purchasing naturally fell on them.

"Junior Brother Wang, it's time to set off, and I have to come back tomorrow!" A senior outsider urged loudly.

"Coming!" Closing the door, Wang Yan walked straight out.

Outside the courtyard, the two seniors were already waiting with bamboo baskets on their backs.

These two seniors had only been in the business for about a year, and one has a surname of Li, a famous place, and was about 30 years old with a beard under his chin.

He was tall and strong, and it was said that he had learned martial arts for several years before entering the school.

Another was Zhang Daoran. He was born like Wang Yan, who was also a child of a wealthy family. It was only because he was weak and sick since he was a child, and his parents were like him. He couldn't bear to die. He heard that the Taoists of Laoshan had amazing medical skills, so he was sent to the mountain to cultivate and recuperate.

After seeing the gift, Wang Yan turned and went to the corner to take the back basket. However, at first glance, he was dumbfounded. He saw Chang Er curled up in the back basket, holding a carrot and gnawing with relish.

Seeing him, he groaned twice and continued to nibble.

"I'm going to do errands down the mountain. I'm not going to play. The mountain is high and the road is long, you should stay in the temple!"

Wang Yan stretched out his hand to lift it out, but the fat rabbit stretched its leg and flicked Wang Yan's hand away.

"Junior Brother Wang, I think you should let it go! It’s better to have multiple companions along the way." Zhang Daoran looked at Chang Er with a smile on his face.

For the children of the rich family, eating, drinking, and having fun was the norm. Even if they went up the mountain to practice Taoism, this character still remained deep in their hearts.

Zhang Daoran contributed a lot to it being as fat as it was today.

Seeing someone help, Chang Er took advantage of it. It sniffed and looked at Wang Yan, as if saying that it was going to make a decision.

Wang Yan had no choice but to compromise. "Fine! Brother said so, what else can I say, but I won't carry you all the time. When you come back, you can go up the mountain by yourself!"

With that said, Wang Yan carried the basket and followed the two seniors down the mountain.

After the rain was clear, the ground was still a bit moist. After three days of wind and rain, the mountain road was covered with dead leaves.

Laoshan was a famous mountain in Qingjiang Mansion, with unique scenery, steep mountains, and it was next to the East China Sea.

With a radius of more than a hundred miles, the golden dome was more than 400 meters high, surrounded by many strange peaks and ridges and other peculiar topography, and there were countless valleys and hills. Sanqing Temple was located on the golden peak of Laoshan, hidden in the clouds all year round. There was a charm of the immortal family isolated from the world.

So majestic , no less than the Five Sacred Mountains in his previous life.

Especially the Laoshan Academy at the foot of Laoshan Mountain, which was extremely prestigious throughout the Dasheng Dynasty.

Let's put it this way, one third of the top scholars in the Dasheng Dynasty in the past 100 years came from the Laoshan Academy. Many scholars in the world were proud of being able to enter the Laoshan Academy to study.

The emperor Taizong of the dynasty once mentioned a painting titled "The First Academy in the World". The lord of the palaces of all dynasties were all crown princes, and some of the relatives of the emperor were sent to the entrance palace for training. Yes, it could be said to be well-known in the world.

However, although Laoshan Academy was famous, the Sanqing Taoist Temple on the top of Laoshan Mountain was not well known. Nowadays, few people can climb to the top of the mountain to bring incense. At most, they could only watch the scenery on the side peaks around the mountainside and chant a few sutras, light some incense, and so on.

Those who come here actually admired Laoshan Academy.

 Chapter 2: Pill Cauldron Inheritance

Wang Yan merely tried. As for whether it could understand what he meant, his hopes were not very high.

He didn't expect that the fat rabbit immediately calmed down after hearing him, and the paws holding Wang Yan's calf also loosened.

Looking at him eagerly, it nodded very humanely.

Although Wang Yan was a bit shocked that the rabbit could understand human words, he was not that surprised. Some modern pets were trained to understand their owner's instructions, not to mention his current world of spirits and gods.

The wisdom of all creatures was far beyond ordinary people's imagination.

"Okay! In that case, what do you need my help with?" Seeing its anxious expression, Wang Yan didn't bluff around.

Since it stopped to ask for help, this was also considered a kind of fate. If he could help, he would help. Sometimes, one’s act of goodness to others could also be very beneficial for oneself.

The rabbit seemed to know that its purpose of asking for help had been achieved, so it bounced three times on the spot and ran deep into the forest.

Wang Yan did not neglect and followed closely. There were no roads in the deep mountains. There were bushes and thorns, and hidden pits were hidden among the weeds. A little carelessness might hurt one’s muscles and bones. But Wang Yan followed the rabbit and went unimpeded all the way.

It didn't take long for one person and one rabbit to come to an open place, where weeds were overgrown and some even covered Wang Yan's calf.

The mountain breeze was blowing in his face, and a slightly thick smell of blood went with the wind.

The fat rabbit stopped in front of a stone, screamed a few times, and waved its front paws to point to a depression. Wang Yan looked at it, and he was startled to what he saw.

A man, ragged and covered in blood, laid on the ground. Wang Yan understood in an instant why the fat rabbit was so anxious and pleading.

He ran forward quickly. At first glance, Wang Yan couldn’t help but feel a tremor. He saw that the man’s right arm was broken, and there were several holes in his chest. His heart was particularly injured and he was bleeding badly.

His face was also full of blood. It was difficult to distinguish his face, and he did not know how to live or die.

This kind of scene, which he had only seen in movies and television dramas in his previous life had now become a reality. Even if he was a macho, he couldn’t just be indifferent about it. What's more, this person was severely injured. He didn't know where he came from, and he wasn't sure if he was a bandit.

But no matter what, he had to save him. Fortunately, his mental quality is not bad, so he calmed down and started to rescue him.

"Hey... bro, how are you doing?" Wang Yan squatted down and checked his pulse, which was extremely weak.

"Still alive!" He quickly took off his outer shirt, kneaded it into a ball, and pressed hard on the wounds on his chest to stop the bleeding.

It was a miracle that such a serious injury could survive. Although there were no ambulances and advanced medical equipment in this era, he might be able to save his life with his master.

The fat rabbit was also squatting next to him, crying in pity.

"Ahem… You… Who are you?" Suddenly, the man opened his eyes and woke up. He clasped Wang Yan's right wrist with his left hand and sat up.

After being pinched like this, Wang Yan only felt his bones were about to break.

"Ah... let go, what are you doing?" Half of his body was almost out of balance and weak, which could almost be called heartache.

"I'm saving you! Let go, I'm going to break..." The more Wang Yan struggled, the more pain he felt.

The man stared at Wang Yan and looked at him. He seemed to feel that the man was not malicious. In the end, his anger was relieved, he couldn't help but spout a mouthful of blood, and he stiffly fell again.

Once freed, Wang Yan quickly rubbed his wris and saw five fingerprint bruises embedded on his flesh.

"You don't have to do things in vain, kid. What's your name?" Although the man fell down again, his consciousness was still sober.

"My name is Wang Yan, and I am a Taoist in the mountains. You'd better stop talking, save your energy, and I will carry you up the mountain." Although Wang Yan was unhappy, he didn't bother to care about it at the moment.

Several seniors who were cutting wood with him were scattered in this mountain forest. First carry him and leave, and then call the seniors to help him along the way. The situation should be much better. At least, they could go up the mountain as quickly as possible.

He lifted him up and leaned his back on a flat stone beside him, while continuing to stop his bleeding, but the man seemed uncomfortable, pushed his hand away, and threw his balled Taoist suit aside.

"My injury can’t be saved by the gods. The reason why I can survive to this day is nothing more than hanging by one breath! I am already dead. Why bother to do so?" His eyes were cold and his tone was serious.

"God destined me to be buried in this mountain, that's all! But meeting you is also a kind of fate, boy. You have to listen to what I will say next."

Wang Yan had a bad feeling when he heard what he said.

"My surname is Li, my name is Changye, the 26th generation descendant of Danding Sect, alchemy medicine, beneficiary of the royal family. A few days ago, the great master of the sect lost, and all the disciples suffered. I was seriously injured and ran away, and now it is almost exhausted. My lights are dead." As he said that, he reached out and took out a slap-sized box. Because it was soaked in blood, he could no longer see the material.

“The prosperity in the box is the inheritance of our Danding sect. If you have the heart, you can take my inheritance, accept my fate, and become the 27th generation heir of our Danding sect. If you have no intentions, if you find a suitable candidate in the future, you can give this thing as a gift, so that my Danding line will not be cut off."

Seeing this, Wang Yan felt a little loss.

What is this, is it a last word?

Suddenly, Wang Yan didn't not accept it, nor did he accept it. Originally, he saved him out of good intentions, but he did not expect to have such a big responsibility now. He didn't even understand his own way of cultivation, and he didn't even get started. How could he inherit the fate of others?

Taoism also emphasized causality, the so-called "Heaven will bear the burden, and the cause and effect corresponds."

The decision made today might have a great impact on the future. If I take over his inheritance, I am afraid that I will tie it together in my life, and I will also carry forward the sect.

He thought he didn't have that great ideal, and he didn't have that ability. Although this was the world of gods and spirits, he only wanted to cultivate some magical powers and have a free life that is disease-free and disaster-free.

Of course, if he could grow into an immortal, that would naturally be excellent.

Seeing that he was embarrassed, Li Changye couldn't afford to wait. His internal organs were all shattered, and his ability to survive to the present was the limit. "Little brother, there is half a black vine in the box. It is a high-grade spirit treasure, which can cure all diseases and relieve strange poisons. Today, I will give it to my brother as a gift. I hope you can do me this favor, otherwise I will die."

On the brink of desperation, there is no way, he could only give benefits. Compared to letting the inheritance be cut off, this mere artifact was insignificant.

During this speech, blood was flowing from his wound, and after a violent cough, a large amount of blood overflowed from his mouth, which was obviously no more chance of recovery.

The fat rabbit rubbed its master's face with its long ears, wailing.

"Chang Er has been with me for several years. He is quite spiritual and can recognize herbs. After I die, I hope you can treat it well!" He then looked at the fat rabbit and sighed slightly.

"Okay! I promise you." Wang Yan thought for a while, and finally took the box, not because of the half black vine, but because he couldn't bear to pass on the inheritance.

"Senior, rest assured, I will find someone to succeed you." As soon as this remark came out, it meant that it couldn't be more obvious. He couldn't bear such a big pot, so he’d find a chance to find another talent!
